Ocean to Earth Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading organisation dedicated to nature recovery and ecological restoration. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple nature recovery initiatives, with a particular focus on peatland restoration across the UK.

The Role

As a Project Manager, you will oversee high-impact ecological restoration projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while upholding the highest environmental and sustainability standards. You will lead teams, manage project execution, liaise with stakeholders, and drive long-term ecological success.

A results-driven leader with a strong track record of delivering projects successfully.
Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
Stakeholder engagement experience, building relationships with landowners, regulators, and conservation bodies.
Strong commitment to environmental sustainability, compliance, and health & safety.
Experience in NEC4 contracts and project management best practices.
Minimum 8 years of experience leading landscape projects in a regulated industry.
Full project lifecycle experience, from business case development to execution and handover.
Commercial and risk management expertise.
Exceptional communication skills at all levels.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

🔹 Plan, manage, and execute peatland restoration and nature recovery projects.
🔹 Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management.
🔹 Conduct site assessments, restoration planning, and ecological monitoring.

Team Development & Collaboration

🔹 Mentor and support on-site teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
🔹 Work cross-functionally with biodiversity, climate resilience, and innovation teams.
🔹 Engage with landowners, regulators, and conservation groups to ensure project success.

Client & Stakeholder Management

🔹 Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring project alignment.
🔹 Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
🔹 Provide clear, transparent project updates to all stakeholders.

Business Development & Tendering

🔹 Identify new opportunities for nature recovery projects, particularly in peatland restoration.
🔹 Assist in funding applications and bid writing.
🔹 Manage contractor and supplier relationships to ensure high-quality project delivery.


Essential Skills & Experience

✅ Proven project management experience in ecological restoration, ideally in peatland restoration.
✅ Strong budgeting, resource management, and risk mitigation expertise.
✅ Demonstrated team leadership and coaching abilities.
✅ Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
✅ Solid understanding of ecological principles and habitat restoration techniques.
Full UK driving licence (essential for site travel).

Desirable Skills

➕ Experience in remote sensing, AI, and other innovative restoration technologies.
➕ Proven funding application and bid-writing experience.
Membership of professional bodies (e.g., CIEEM).
