About the Role

Ocean to Earth Recruitment is pleased to be working with our client, a leading independent consultancy specialising in environment, planning, and sustainability. Our client is a purpose and people-led organisation, committed to creating positive impacts for communities, businesses, and the planet. Their team includes recognised industry leaders who work on innovative, complex, and globally relevant projects, offering bespoke professional services to help clients make informed decisions and achieve the best outcomes.

The Role
Our client is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Principal Consultants to join their EIA Property team. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, clients, and project design teams. The successful candidate will be an experienced EIA project manager responsible for coordinating and delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Statement (ES) Reviews for a variety of brownfield and greenfield property developments across London and the South of England.

Applicants should be client-focused, proactive, and have excellent communication skills. A thorough understanding of EIA guidelines, the planning process, and a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and preparation of various EIA projects, including technical review of ES chapters.

  • Financial management, preparation of fee proposals, and oversight of the ES Review process.

  • Training and mentoring junior team members.

  • Managing performance, providing technical assurance, and overseeing project resources.

  • Engaging in business development activities and client liaison.

Our client offers flexible hybrid working and is open to candidates based in other locations.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have 7+ years of client-facing consulting experience.

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, flexibility, and motivation.

  • Have experience managing large and complex urban regeneration schemes.

  • Be experienced in brownfield regeneration, mixed-use housing, greenfield development, and housing scheme projects.

  • Have experience in undertaking ES reviews and coordinating local authority frameworks.

  • Demonstrate expertise in bid writing for property and EIA projects.

  • Have experience in people management, including performance, training, and career progression.

  • Be confident, proactive, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Hold a relevant environmental degree-level qualification.

  • Have strong project management and report-writing skills.

  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a creative approach to problem-solving.

Equal Employment Opportunities
Our client is an equal opportunities employer, committed to ensuring the fair treatment of all current and prospective employees. They aspire to create a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply.
