As an established environmental consultancy, our client covers a range of disciplines, including Landscape Architecture, Ecology, Environmental Planning and Management, Arboriculture, Graphic Design, and GIS Analysis. The team values a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, providing a balanced and engaging working environment.

The Roles

Our client is seeking both a Senior Landscape Architect with around three to five years post-Chartership experience and a Graduate or recently Chartered Landscape Architect to join their dynamic team.

Working as part of an interdisciplinary consultancy, you will collaborate with ecologists, environmental managers, and planners on a diverse portfolio of projects. These include major highways, public realm schemes, feasibility and management studies, schools, renewable energy initiatives, and development projects across Wales, the West Midlands, and the South West of England. There will also be opportunities to work on residential planning and design, healthcare projects, pocket parks, rural land management, biodiversity net gain, active travel, and carbon-neutral design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Senior Landscape Architect:

    • Lead on landscape design and assessment projects
    • Project management and multidisciplinary team collaboration
    • Bid preparation
    • Mentoring and contributing to the professional development of colleagues
    • Delivering high-quality design and technical outputs
  • Graduate/Chartered Landscape Architect:

    • Supporting design and assessment work, contributing to technical reports
    • Working on LVIA and EIA assessments for various projects
    • Engaging with the planning process and policy guidance
    • Developing graphic and writing skills to support project delivery

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate should have some or all of the following skills and experience:

  • A strong understanding of landscape legislation, policy, and guidance
  • Experience in LVIA and EIA for developments of varying scales
  • Knowledge of landscape design, implementation, and contract administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel; experience with InDesign, Photoshop, or GIS would be an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and on-site, including in remote rural locations
  • A full UK driving licence is essential

What’s on Offer?

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • A flexible working approach, with a mix of office, site, and home-based working
  • 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with the option to purchase 5 additional days annually (rising with length of service)
  • Company pension plan, private medical insurance, and life assurance
  • Professional membership fees (LI, IEEM, AAHI, etc.) covered
  • Access to elective benefits, including the Cycle to Work Scheme and health insurance
  • Training and development opportunities, including support for chartership and CPD

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team, offering a varied workload and excellent career development prospects.
