The Role: Associate or Senior Landscape Planner

We’re seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Landscape Planner to join our client’s design team. In this role, you’ll support some of their most significant and impactful projects. Their team is passionate about delivering excellence, which has enabled them to play a leading role in securing Development Consent Orders (DCOs) for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) – including the largest consented solar farm in the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to shape spaces, build strong client relationships, and uphold high standards of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Authoring Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs), appraisals, and Environmental Statement (ES) chapters.

  • Supporting large-scale infrastructure projects through the DCO process.

  • Conducting Landscape and Townscape Character Assessments.

  • Preparing and overseeing the creation of graphics and visualizations.

  • Designing mitigation and enhancement schemes.

  • Drafting and managing fee proposals and methodologies.

  • Communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

Preferred Skills and Interests:

  • Providing expert witness services.

  • Facilitating public and stakeholder consultations.

  • Developing green infrastructure and strategic design solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Solid experience in a landscape planning role, with a strong understanding of planning policy and process.

  • Experience with NSIP DCO projects (preferred but not essential).

  • Proven ability to manage key accounts and deliver on large-scale projects.

  • Confidence in conducting site surveys and delivering LVIA/TVIA assessments.

  • Exceptional report writing skills and an eye for quality assurance.

  • Experience in authoring EIA chapters.

  • Self-motivation and excellent organizational skills.

  • Strong project management capabilities.
